An American woman who was among those who died in the Mali terror attack at Radisson Blu
hotel yesterday has been identified as Anita Datar.
The 41-year-old was
born in western Massachusetts and grew up in northern New Jersey. She
graduated from Columbia University's Joseph Mailman School of
International and Public Health and served two years in the Peace Corps
in Senegal.
According to the State Department, Datar, who was described by her
family as the most helpful person they knew, is survived by her son,
brother and many friends.
