New Report getting has it that Pastor Adeboye have step down as General Overseer of RCCG, and his successor is Pastor J.O. Obayemi . After the church slammed those calling for the Pastor's retirement, last year.
Pastor Johnson Odesola, Special Assistant to Pastor Adeboye on Administration and Personnel, said at that time that the church’s constitution did not state that anyone above 70 years should not lead the ministry.
He said: “Whereas the constitution provided that the deputy and assistant general overseers are appointed to retire at 70 and enjoy their retirement benefits for life, there is no such provision for the general overseer.”
It was reported that the announcement was made during the church’s annual thanksgiving held at the 3km by 3km new auditorium today 7th January 2016 and that Pastor Adeboye have also announced the new Overseer as Pastor J.O Obayemi, Pastor J.F Odesola as Secretary and Pastor J.A. Adeyokunnu as the new Treasurer. Also present at the meeting was the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osibajo and other Senior Pastors of the Church.
