The Abductors of Students from Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary (BMJS) are demanding N200 million for the release of the students.
The three students namely Timilehin Olisa, Tofunmi Popoolaniyan and Deborah Akinayo, all SS2 students, were kidnapped in their classroom on Monday at about 9:30am.
it was later learnt that Timilehin Olisa, is the daughter of the Executive Secretary of the Lagos Anglican School Management Board, Ven. Victor Ayo Olusa.
According to the Nation The kidnappers, are demanding N200 million for the three girls, but Vanguard reported that the abductor reduced the ransom to N20 million for each student after they succumbed to passionate pleas by their contact in the school.
The Nation learnt that security agencies may have identified the abductors’ location. Teams of military personnel, the police and the Department of State Service (DSS) and the local vigilante group, known as Oyabo, have been deployed in the area.
Some parents who spoke on condition of anonymity blamed the management of the school for lack of adequate security.
They said on various occasions, the management was advised to raise the fence at the School of Science and Technology, but the suggestion was ignored.
