Vanguard reports that the commissioner for health, and the commissioner for environment, in Lagos State on Friday, January 22 has given an update on the Case of Lassa Fever saying One person has been confirmed dead of the fever and was expected to be buried today they also revealed that the Lagos state has recorded 14 suspected cases of the disease as at Thursday January 21.
The commissioner disclosed that the ministry has shortlisted 447 contacts of the confirmed cases and 438 of the contacts who are currently being monitored.
“Three of the suspected cases were confirmed positive of Lasssa fever. One case was confirmed on January 15 and two cases were confirmed on January 18. Eight suspected cases tested negative, while we are awaiting results for the remaining three suspected case"
