The Senate has gotten a letter from the Presidency,
expressing that a few adjustment were made to the 2016 Budget presented on
December 22nd. The letter which was perused before the house by Senate
President Bukola Saraki this morning.
"It will be recalled that on Tuesday, 22 December,
2015, I displayed my 2016 budget proposition to the joint sitting of the National Assemby. I presented a draft bill joined by a calendar of subtle
elements.
As at the
time submission we showed that in light of the fact that the details has
just been produced we have check to guarantee that there were no mistakes in
the breakdown contained in the Schedule. That has since been completed and I understand
that the amendments have been submitted. The national assembly would in this
way have the subtle elements as submitted on the 22nd and a duplicate
containing the remedies submitted a week ago. It creates the impression this
has prompted some perplexity. In such manner, please find attached the correct
version... This is the version the national assembly ought to work with as my
2016 Budget. The draft bill remains as before and there are no adjustments in
any of the figures."
Saraki says duplicates of the adjusted budget will be sent
to the Senators today so that thoughts on it will begin from tomorrow 20th of January,
2016
