International Cancer Awareness On October 2015

The Medicaid Cancer Foundation (MCF) is  created by Medicaid to support cancer patients, promote cancer awareness and drive community cancer campaigns for undeserved populace in Nigeria. They provide support to guide people through the cancer experience, bring them together to fight cancer.


MCF aims to provide information, skills and resources to detect cancers at the early stage, thereby reducing the mortality rates. Currently, approximately sixty four percent (64%) of newly diagnosed Nigerian patients die within two years (2 years) while most men are diagnosed with already advanced disease. Alarmingly, one hundred and sixteen thousand (116,000) Nigerian women die from breast cancer annually.

October is the designated month by the WHO as International Breast Cancer Awareness month. Medicaid Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization that has been at the forefront of cancer advocacy in Northern Nigeria for 6 years now. They have being a trusted brand and made great impact.
This year, we intend to raise more funds through so as to continue our support to the treatment of indigent Nigerian cancer patients through the following ways;
2.      One Million Man Walk On the 31st of October by 7am, we will host a One Million Man Walk through the streets of Abuja. We will be joined by Kate HenshawDareyLindseyRuby Gyang,Eve UrrahUche JomboToyin AimakhuIni Edo, Rahma Sadua. Walking kits are available for sale in Medicaid.
3.      Medicaid White Concert for Cancer: This dinner/concert comes up on the 31st of October at Harrow Park Abuja. All dressed in white, The event will be hosted by Darey Art Alade and Co-Hosted by Kate Henshaw with performances by Di’Ja , Korede Bello, as well as Chocolate City’s Ruby Gyang, Lindsey, Eve Urrah and a host of others while enjoying a sumptuous dinner.
Tables cost N250, 000 for 8 or N25, 000 individual.
